Huntly is a small attractive town home to the famous Huntly Castle, a beautiful and historic ruin.
You will find the tourist information centre in the castle.
The area is rich in historic sites dating back thousands of years. It saw the first known battle on British soil at Mons Graupius, where the Romans defeated the Picts in 84 AD, and is a good base to explore the many Pictish archaeological sites and stone circles in north east Scotland.
Other attractions include the North East Falconry Centre, and fishing for salmon and trout in the local rivers and lochs. The town has its own GlenDronach malt whisky distillery, is an excellent base from which to explore the famous whisky producing region of Speyside.
