Colonsay is one of the most remote islands in the Hebrides, but also one of the most beautiful.
With stunning wide sandy beaches and rocky cliffs home to thousands of seabirds such as guillemots, razorbills and fulmar, Colonsay is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. The idyllic beach at Kiloran also has caves to explore, and there a numerous ancient monuments on the island such as mysterious bronze age standing stones.
The island has a tiny population of around 120, which increases in the tourist season, and there are ceilidhs held on Saturdays in July and August. There is also a brewery with shop, and the pretty Colonsay House Gardens make a good contrast to the wild island scenery.
Explore the island or take a boat over to the mainland.
