Discover the history of the Grand Union Canal and the local narrowboats.
Set beside a stretch of the Grand Union Canal, the Batchworth Lock Canal Centre provides information on the history of the canal. When you visit you can also see the working narrowboats and the restored narrowboat 'Roger', the last wooden boat to trade on the canal.
They hold a large Canal festival here for a full weekend on the third weekend in May.
Canal trips are available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the summer ( Easter - late October) and you can take walks around the canal and lakes. A lovely spot to spend the day.
