Polkemmet Country Park

Beautiful park with woodland and river walks.

This country park is a scenic retreat with lovely woodland and riverside walks. It is home to an abundance of wildlife, including Roe Deer. The park was once the estate of the Baillie family, but the mansion house was demolished in the mid-20th century by the National Coal Board who then owned the land. Now in public ownership, the park has a golf course, visitor centre, cafe and shop. It also has a local landmark - a striking piece of modern art 24m high in the shape of a horn.
