Large park with open countryside and Strathcylde Loch at its heart.
Strathclyde Country Park is a valuable peaceful open space, situated as it is close to some of central Scotlands most urbanised areas. It offers a wide range of outdoor activities from the watersports centre including rowing, water skiinig, canoeing, pedalos and pleasure cruises. On dry land there are parkland, woods, and walking trails along wetland and river to enjoy the diverse countryside. Interestingly the Loch was a manmade lake, which submerged the mining village of Bothwellhaugh, a memorial to which stands within the park today.
