Dalzell Estate & Barons Haugh

Beautiful wooded country estate and RSPB nature reserve.

This lovely estate forms the grounds of Dalzell House, now in private hands, but the landscaped parkland is publicly owned and open all year. There are attractive walks though secluded woodland, a Japanese garden and a well-stocked arboretum to visit as well as riverside views. The RSPB nature reserve of Barons Haugh is set within the park as is a lake and wetland environment important for migratory birds such as whooper swans and wigeon. Kingfisher and otter might also be seen in along the riverbanks.
