Beautiful fairytale turreted ruined castle set within a complete moat.
This stunning castle stands on a defensive site used since Roman times. The first stone fortress was built in the 13th century, but the mighty defences that make it such a magnificent building were added in the 14th and 15th centuries. This unique triangular castle has seen many battles and sieges, the history of which is explained in the visitor centre. There is also a childrens adventure park, nature trail, shop and tearoom.
