Usk Castle

Delightful overgrown ruin.

This ancient castle is the perfect romantic ivy-covered ruin, straight out of the imagination or perhaps a Hollywood film set. It largely dates from the 13th and 14th century but was allowed to decay, and is now in private hands and open as a visitor attraction. The attractive surrounding parkland is also open and great for walking and other outdoor activities. The castle itself hosts a range of events and acts as a wonderful backdrop for plays and concerts.
