History of the regiment and the Anglo-Zulu War.
This Museum of the Royal Regiment of Wales has a wide range of exhibits from the 300 year history of the South Wales Borderers, including a gun collection dating back to the 18th century. The highlight is a display relating to the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War. The most famous exploit was the battle of Rorkes Drift, where soldiers engaged thousands of attacking Zulu warriors. Queen Victoria decorated the regiment with seven Victoria Cross medals, the highest award for bravery in the British Armed Forces. The episode entered popular culture once again after the release of the 1964 Film 'Zulu' starring Michael Caine.
