Splendid 19th century fantasy castle.
This luxurious mansion was designed in the style of an ancient Norman castle for the wealthy Dawkins-Pennant family who had made their fortune in industry including slate quarrying. Now owned by the National Trust, the castle has sumptuous interiors and stunning gardens and grounds. There are also other attractions on site such as restored Victorian kitchens, childrens play area, a model railway museum and dolls museum. Refreshments are available in the tea room.
