Located in the splendid Victorian Town Hall, the museum illustrates the history of the town and its industries.
Highlights include the Huntley & Palmer Gallery, relating the history of the town's once famous biscuit industry, and the UK's only copy of the Bayeux Tapestry, dating from 1885. Many of the galleries have hands-on activities and there is also an art gallery and café. Holds a series of exhibitions and activities during the year.

Tue-Sat: 10:00-16:00, Sun and Bank Holiday Mon: 11:00-16:00. Closed Mon except Bank Holidays, Christmas Day to New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday.
