On the A6 at Allestree village, you will find this large park, with an 18th Century house. You can explore the nature trails, lake, woodland, and parkland. There is a municipal golf course and, for younger ones, a pets corner. If you are energetic there is an orienteering course, the golf shop has maps. From the top of the park you also get a great view.
The house, Allestree Hall, is the club house for the golf course, but is open for refreshments Wed-Sat between 11:00-15:00.
