The history of lead mining in the Peak District
Displays show how the lead was mined, with the tools and clothes used by the miners. You can even crawl through tunnels, climb shafts and operate the rag and chain pump. The galleys include working models and informative slide shows.
As a bonus you also get to go into Temple Mine, open since 1922, and try your hand at mineral panning and see what it was like to be a miner. There is a gift shop in the museum.
