Enjoy a day in the countryside, just west of Wirksworth. You can hire a bike, walk the trails and even try watersports, there is a water sports centre. By the lake is an RSPB Nature Reserve, ideal for bird spotting, as well as an adventure playground.
The visitor centre at this Severn Trent Water reservoir has a restaurant and picnic areas as well as a number of shops. Barbecues are allowed in restricted areas. It's a big reservoir so there are a number of carprks, for which there is a charge.
