Picturesque landscaped park with 18th century cascades.
This beautiful Country Park was originally the estate of a grand house, built on the local industries of copper, brass and coal mining. The heyday of Gnoll House was at the peak of the industrial revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries, and it was then that much of the landscaped park was laid out. This includes the formal and informal cascades, interesting and tranquil water features from a bygone age. The house is now gone, but its beautiful parkland is a popular place to visit, walk and picnic. There is a visitor centre, permanent environmental exhibition, café, childrens playground, and a 9 hole golf course.
