Fantastic Gothic mansion set in beautiful parkland with a huge range of attractions.
With 800 acres of stunning gardens and countryside, historic Margam Country Park has something to offer every visitor. Its centrepiece is the sumptuous mansion of Margam Castle, rebuilt in the mid 19th century by the Talbot family. The interior was damaged by fire in the 1970s, but is gradually being restored. The vast and beautiful Great Hallway is open to visitors in the summer months. This historic park also contains an iron age fort, the remains of 12th century Margam Abbey, a historic deer park and a large and splendid neoclassical orangery built by the family in the late 18th century to house citrus trees. Other amenities and attractions include a visitor centre, cafe, bike hire, adventure playground, farm animals and miniature railway. The Margam Discovery Centre is an environmental education building with an interpretation centre and cafe open to the public during the daytime. Play Area and head along to the Farm Trail
