Exclusive yacht club housed in historic Cowes Castle
This iconic club was formed in 1815 and has shaped island history, notably in hosting the fashionable Cowes Week Regatta since its early days. The club house is 16th century Cowes Castle, an attractive and now much altered building overlooking the Solent. The Cowes Week races start on cannon fire from the castle, the cannon itself once belonging to the 19th century HMS Royal Adelaide.
