Arnolfini, an international centre for contemporary arts, at Bush House, a 19th century Grade II listed tea warehouse. Arnolfini has become an important venue for the city's social and cultural life. In this waterside location is 5 galleries, a cinema and two performance spaces. Programmes of visual arts, live art and performance, dance, literary readings, tours, talks and events.\r\nArchitectural lectures and occasional music events. Outside Arnolfini is a statue of John Cabot, who sailed from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497.A replica of his ship, the Matthew, is moored beside ss Great Britain. The converted warehouse has one of the best arts bookshops in the country, reading room and a café with quayside seating.

Spike Island, between Bristol Harbourside and the River Avon, was an island until the Bathurst Locks were sealed up. Located in the former Brooke Bond tea building, the Centre is the UK's largest art studio complex-\r\nto the production and exhibi Devoted to contemporary visual arts - from painting to the moving image.In 2007 it re-opened after a £2.25 million redevelopment.The centre now has over 70 studios, spaces for commercial creative industries and an exhibition hall offers a changing programme of events.Lively canteen/bar.

CREATE is located in a former bonded warehouse on the Cumberland Basin at the entrance to the famous Floating Harbour.The vibrant environment centre showcases art, events and exhibitions to promote sustainable living. Ecohome, built on the site in 1995, demonstrates how sustainable buildings \r\ncan be constructed and furnished (open 12:00-17:00). The centre is home to several environmental groups and the City Council sustainability teams. Visitors are welcome to tour the art gallery, Ecohome and the displays.
