St
Ives
|
|
St
Ives, an historic riverside town, not to be confused with
St Ives in Cornwall.
An important annual fair has been held here since 1110.
Sited on the River Ouse with a 15th century bridge, which
is unusual, as it has a chapel built into the bridge, one
of only four medieval bridge chapels in England.
Statue of Oliver Cromwell in the marketplace, he had
a local farm.
