| At Ashby-de-la-Zouche In the 12th century a hall was built on the site, in the 15th century the residential Warwick Tower was built with an extension by Lord Hastings who rose to Lord Chamberlain under Edward IV. | To north west of Leicester, off A47 Begun in 1480 by Lord Hastings, one of the first to be constructed from brick.In 1483 before completion, Lord Hastings was seized by Richard of Gloucester and executed. His widow continued some work, the west tower was completed and today is the only well-preserved building. more information |
