Aberporth has two of the best beaches in West Wales, with golden sands flanked by cliffs and wooded hills.
The friendly village was once a busy port and herring fishery, but its the great family-friendly beaches that now draw people to the area - although it is still popular for recreational fishing and boating. Fish and chips might be a good idea after all the swimming and rockpooling on offer, and there are a range of cafes, pubs and amenities. This stretch of coastline is also an ideal place to watch out for the resident dolphins.
