The pretty 'Hillfoot' village of Dollar is set in the beautiful Ochil hills.
Its main attraction is the magnificent Castle Campbell, a 15th century ruin set in a stunning location in Glen Dollar. The castle has deep gorges on either side with spectacular views of the surrounding hills. This historic building has seen many famous visitors, including the preacher John Knox and Mary Queen of Scots. There is a award-winning local museum in the village which tells the interesting history of the area.
Dollar is also home to the prestigious Dollar Academy, one of Britain's largest independent schools.
