Colwyn Bay tourist information
Colwyn Bay is a large and busy town on the north Wales coast. It developed as a Victorian seaside destination in the 19th century, in common with neighbouring Llandudno, due to its wide sandy beach.
The town boasts a long sweeping promenade along the sea front stretching for many miles - linking Old Colwyn to Rhos-on-Sea and north to Penrhyn Bay. This route is excellent for walking and cycling to enjoy the wonderful coastal scenery without all the traffic.
Inland attractions include the Welsh Mountain Zoo, with its exotic animals - including Sumatran Tigers, Snow Leopards, monkeys and meerkats. A great wet weather idea is the Harlequin puppet theatre in Rhos-on-Sea, offering regular family shows.
