The characterful market town of Llanrwst is known for its pretty setting on the River Conwy and lovely 17th century stone bridge, or Pont Fawr.
This historic town has some interesting buildings, among them the Jacobean almshouses, built to house the needy in 1610 and now home to a local museum. The splendid 15th manor house of Gwydir Castle is said to be one of the most haunted in Wales. Set right next to the bridge is the quaint ivy-covered Tu Hwnt I'r Bont tearooms, serving traditional Welsh fare in a great location.
