Bolventor, a small hamlet really on the main road, but you get best views of the moor here, including Brown Willy and Rough Tor, the main tors.
Famous for the pub, Jamaica Inn as in the book by Daphne du Maurier. Bleak but surprisingly quite a lot to visit nearby.
See if you catch sight of the Beast Of Bodmin, an allegedly loose big cat, although this is similar to one also spotted on Exmoor !
If you to go up Rough Tor, go on the A39 and turn south just west of Camelford, it is signposted and there is a carpark.
