Cumbria is made up of 6 districts: Allerdale, Barrow-in-Furness,
Carlisle, Copeland, Eden and South Lakeland. The city of
Carlisle is the administrative
centre of the Cumbria.
To
the north Hadrians Wall
runs east into Northumbria
and this is a popular route to follow.
Cumbria is especially famous as the home of
Beatrix Potter and Lake District has been the inspiration
for generations of poets, the most famous of which is Wordsworth.
