Ilkeston, formally
a coal mining town, now the home of a variety of industries,
a busy town with a market on Thursdays and Saturdays.
It's buildings reflect
the industrial history of the town, with its 19th century
Town Hall, its main church St Marys, rebuild in the early
1900's, and 1904 library.
There is leisure centre,
Victoria Park Leisure Centre, and a good shopping area.
