Central DevonBovey Tracey

Bovey Tracey, is a nice town, the Gateway To Dartmoor (several towns claim this !), with a history of conflict. In 1646 Cromwell took the Royalists by surprise, an old gateway, part of a former priory was named Cromwells Arch.

Small shopping area but busy as close to Dartmoor, an ideal touring base. Industrial estates towards A38.

The road towards the A38 was popular in the 60's as it was one mile long and bikers, before speed limits were introduced, liked to achieve 100mph plus down the road on Sundays. Not possible now due to roundabouts being introduced.
