Hatherleigh is a small market town with a small shopping area in a narrow street, but busy on market day.
Used to be traffic holdups until bypassed, now the town has less lorries passing through its narrow main street.
The Tarka Trail starts here and goes all the way to Bideford and Barnstaple, ideal for walking or cycling as it follows the old railway line.
