Princetown, home of Dartmoor Prison, this grey town sits in the middle of Dartmoor 1400 ft up. Princetown was named after the Prince Regent.
The town church and a lot of Dartmoor roads were built by the prisoners.
The prison was closed as unfit in 1816, as many of the prisoners died, but was reopened in 1882.
