Torbay
|
|
| Torbay, the
English Riviera. Paignton, Torquay
and Brixham stretch
around the bay with its glorious beaches, popular for holidays.
See our separate pages on these towns for more tourist information.
You are never short of things to do here in Torbay !, soak
up the sun, enjoy the water sports, visit numerous attractions,
and, at the end of the day, live it up in the night clubs
until the next morning.
Lots to do, yet each of the three towns in the Torbay area
have a distinct character. Brixham,
a fishing port with olde world charm, Paignton,
a family resort, and Torquay, the
largest town, with its harbour and shopping centre.
There is an evening paper, The Herald Express, which has a Whats On Section.
A ring-road and a coast road connects the towns, but don't miss the small villages just outside Torbay with their thatched cottages
and country pubs, ideal for a long walk. Or look for secluded coves by taking a walk along
the cliffs.
Being very popular busy tourists the traffic can be heavy
with car parks full in the summer. Why not take the Bayline
buses, try the open-top buses between Torquay and Brixham
for a good view of the bay
