South DevonTorcross

Torcross, is in an area known as South Hams, sited in Start Bay, which is famous as being the training area for the WWII D-Day landing.

A tank acts as a memorial, several lost their lives in training when attacked by the Germans.

Close to good beaches at Hallsands and Beesands, as well as Slapton with its wildlife centre at Slapton Ley, lake and marshland area.

Popular in summer for its wide beaches and proximity to secluded coves at Strete and Stoke Fleming towards Dartmouth.
