Widecombe-in-the-Moor
|
|
| Widecombe-in-the-Moor,
a pretty village, or tourist trap ?. Famous as the Dartmoor
town, it gets very busy in summer, lots of coaches and walkers.
Tea rooms, walks, pubs and restaurants, and a large car park.
Famous for the song Widecombe Fair.Uncle Tom
Cobbly and all, not forgetting Harry Hawk ! Fair is second
Tuesday in September.
The nice church here is known as the Cathedral of the Moor,
although is actually called The Church
Of St.Pancras.
