Broughty Ferry tourist information
Broughty Ferry is a lovely harbour town now within the boundary of Dundee.
With a fine golden sandy beach and great views over the River Tay to Fife, it is a lovely place to visit and stroll along the promenade. The quaint cottages and pubs date back from its history as a small fishing village. Later it became home to the wealthier citizens of Dundee, and it remains popular for its pretty setting and characterful bars, restaurants, cafes and shops.
Dominating the waterfront of Broughty Ferry is the wonderful 15th century Broughty Castle, which now houses a local museum. Also close by is Claypotts Caste, an attractive and unique 16th tower house.
