Cockenzie and Port Seton were originally two harbour villages that have now joined.
The town is still a working fishing village, and although close to Edinburgh, seems a world away from the busy city. The harbour is popular as a day trip, although the power station does dominate some parts of the local coastline.
Seton Collegiate Church is a lovely nearby monument set in woodland with its origins in the Middle Ages. The church was partially destroyed by war in the 17th and 18th centuries, but the impressive architecture can still be enjoyed.
