The beautiful Rouken Glen Park is one of the most popular open spaces in the area, with formal walled gardens, a boating pond, open parklands and children's play areas. Eastwood Park is the lovely former estate of the Earls of Eglinton, centred on a 19th century mansion. The park is also home to an exciting theatre venue, which also hosts creative events such as art workshops.
Greenbank Garden is a stunning place to visit, now maintained by the National Trust for Scotland. Set in the grounds of an elegant 18th century house, it has lovely themed walled and formal gardens.
Close by is Holmwood House, a villa designed by the notable Scottish architect Alexander 'Greek' Thomson and now set within the suburbs of Glasgow. Built in his distinctive neoclassical style, visitors can view the ongoing restoration of this beautiful building.
