Visit the East Riding of Yorkshire
The East Riding of Yorkshire, located on the North Sea coast, was one of the three Yorkshire 'Ridings'. When Humberside was abolished in 1996, the East Riding was resurrected.
Kingston upon Hull, or just 'Hull', on the banks of the Humber Estuary, is enclosed by East Yorkshire, but is a separate city authority.
To the west is Yorkshire Wolds, a chalk formation, and you can explore the rolling hills along the 79 mile long Yorkshire Wolds Way. To the south-east is the flat coastal plain of Holderness which terminates at the wild Spurn Peninsular. The spectacular coastline ranges from the dramatic cliffs of Flamborough Head to the sand spit of the Spurn Peninsular.
