Stansted,
the airport has one of London's newest terminal buildings,
and is used by many budget airlines including Ryan Air.
There
a lot of check-in desks, so if you are traveling from here,
view the screens near the entrances to find your check-in
desk.
Once checked
in you have to go through security. We have been to this airport
and there were very long queues to get through security.
We have checked with other passengers and this appears to
happen a lot. So we have to recommend that you check-in on
time to allow the extra time that may be required to get through
the security check.
There
are plenty of cafe's and shops both in the main hall and after
the security check.
To get
to the gate you have to take a small train, and take it back
again to the terminal when you land.
The airport
has good motorway connections as well as a fairly large coach
station, with express and slower connections to London and
elsewhere. There is also a train station. For detailed information
please visit the British
Airports Authority site Access to the terminal
from the coach station is through a tunnel and up escalators,
there is also a lift.
Car Parking
is available, long-term, medium term and short term. The Hilton
hotel also has car parking for guests and a courtesy bus.
The main
Airport Number is 0870 0000303 For individual airlines see
the Destinations secion of the British
Airports Authority site
