Walton-on-the-Naze
|
|
|
Walton-on-the-Naze,
just north of Frinton on the tip of the Naze, and just slightly
commercialised. Became popular for bathing in the 19th century
and despite a downturn after the Second World War has started
to re-invent itself as one of the quieter seaside resorts
with small shops and unspoilt countryside and beaches.
Famous
for having the second-longest pier in Britain.
Walk north
to the nature reserve and views over towards Suffolk, see
the boats going in and out of Harwich and Felixstowe. Nearby
cliffs are famous for their fossils.
