SussexAlfriston

Alfriston, the most English of English villages, one of the most beautiful villages in the Downs. Small tea-shops as well as antique shops here.

Thatched houses, village green and old inns.

The large village church is often called "the Cathedral of the Downs".

Alfriston's claim to fame is that the Star Inn is where King Alfred burnt his cakes. He also visited the area as the English fleet was harboured at Westdean.

The village gets very busy in the summer with tourists. Lots to do around the area.
