CrowboroughCrowborough, small town on the edges of the Weald, very much a commuter town with its rail link to London.

The town has grown on the summit and slopes of Beacon Hill, and is a good base for walking the surrounding countryside..

Its claim to fame is that in 1910 the Captain of Crowborough Beacon Golf Club was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

The Tourist Information centre in the town has walking guides.
