SussexEastbourne

Eastbourne, a thriving seaside holiday resort, often the hottest place in the country in the summer, which has been popular since the 19th century.

The town has several parks, including Devonshire Park, and Hampden Parks, and there are lawns along the seafront promenade, Grand Parade, where there is the Wish Tower, a Martello Tower built in 1804 with a museum.

Parts of Eastbourne old town include the 18th century Compton Place, not forgetting the pier, built in 1872, 600 feet long.

Generally the resort has the air of slight sophistication.

You can easily walk along the coast to Beachy Head, the famous chalk headland, with its views, or further along to the Seven Sisters, great chalk stacks. Lot's to explore inland as well as along the coast.
