Airth.is a small pretty village with some attractive stone buildings and good views across to the River Forth.
However, the most notable attraction in this area is the odd but wonderful Dunmore Pineapple, in the grounds of what was once the estate of the magnificent Dunmore House. The mansion is now a ruin, but luckily this unique structure survives. Built (unsurprisingly) in the shape of a pineapple in the 18th century, it was intended as a garden pavilion and the dome of the fruit is around 14m high.
