Cupar tourist information

The handsome market town of Cupar is a busy, thriving place, with some elegant historic buildings which are a legacy of its prosperous past as a centre of the wool industry.

It is an attractive place to visit and spend a while in the local shops and restaurants. There are also some pleasant walks along the River Eden through the town.

Close by is the magnificent Hill of Tarvit, an elegant Edwardian county house set beautiful grounds. Here you can also play golf the traditional way at the Kingarrock Golf Course, with hickory clubs and softer balls to recreate the sport as it was in a bygone age.

In the Fife countryside near Cupar there are also two attractions dedicated to showcasing the best of the animal kingdom. The Fife Animal Park offers the opportunity to see and learn about exotic and domestic species, including Lemur and Meerkat. The Scottish Deer Centre is home to nine deer varieties, as well as wolf, birds of prey and other rare species.
