4 miles north-west of Stowmarket, signposted off the A14. The gardens and park of this Jacobean manor house are open to the public.Lawns and small gardens with the attraction of  some magnificent old trees in the park that has 100 acres of woodland to walk in. more information

9 miles north of Ipswich, 5 miles south of Debenham on B1077 A Tudor hall surrounded by a wide moat and 400 acres of deer park.  The house is the home of the Tollemache family, and the garden is particularly beautiful when the musk roses are in bloom.  The garden features   a walled garden, a kitchen garden and a herb and knot garden as well as a Tudor garden. Herds of red and fallow deer are in the park, and some of the oak trees here are thought to be 900 years old. more information

6 miles north of Ipswich, to the east of the A14/A140, or south of Stowmarket off the A45. One of the finest examples Italianate garden in England.  The Victorian garden was designed by Sir Charles Barry, architect of the Houses of Parliament, and  is being restored by Lord and Lady de Saumarez.  The man feature of the garden is the superb Italian staircase which descending from the terrace to the formal gardens.Other features include a Swiss chalet, a loggia, follies and a splendid box maze.  more information
