This mature 0.5 acre estuary garden was planted by Mrs Chapman and her late husband.

Lanterns garden has something of interest throughout the year and Mrs Chapman is happy to answer visitors questions about the origin of the plants and their planting schemes.

Although Lanterns is small, the Chapmans have used every part to create small streams, dry areas and waterside walks. The flourishing garden has masses of bulbs, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and climbers.

Much of the stock is propagated in the garden's conservatory/ greenhouse and Mrs Chapman refers to Lanterns as, 'a natural working garden'.
