Trebah is a spectacular 25 acre ravine garden that falls 200 feet to a private beach on the River Helford.
The sub-tropical garden is now 150 years old and leads from an 18th century house down a steep, wooded valley to a sheltered cove.
The lawns at the top of the garden provide a splendid view over the sub-tropical jungle where vast Australian tree-ferns and palms tower over 100 year old rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias.
Banana and bamboo trees are among a huge collection of rare sub-tropical trees and shrubs.
A stream cascades down the garden over waterfalls, through ponds with exotic water plants and Koi Carp and winds through 2 acres of white and blue hydrangeas to finally rush out over the beach. The cove has a memorial to those men who left the tiny jetty to take part in the Dunkirk landings but did not return.
