The Garden House is a magnificent 10 acre garden owned by the The Fortescue Garden Trust. The garden was created after World War II by Lionel Fortescue, a noted plant collector. There is interest throughout the year and new delights around every corner.
A highlight of The Garden House is the terraced walled garden.
The romantic 2 acre walled garden, considered to be one of the finest in the country, surrounds the ruins of a 16th century vicarage. Within the walls are a huge collection of shrubs and herbaceous plants.
Today The Garden House is maintained by Keith and Ros Wiley whose additions to the garden have taken advantage of the marvellous views over the surrounding Devon and Cornish hills.
