Exbury has 200 acres of landscaped woodland gardens
overlooking the Beaulieu River in the New Forest. The extensive gardens are the most popular in Hampshire with 120,000 people
visiting the site each year. Exbury is home to the world famous Rothschild plant
collection which includes spectacular rhododendrons and azaleas and there are many rare
and magnificent trees.
Exbury also contains rockeries,
screes, cascades, ponds, Water Garden, the Heather Garden
and the Rose Garden. In addition there are themed walks,
seasonal trails and the River Walk.
The gardens are wonderful in the spring when the
rhododendrons, maples, azaleas and camellias create a superb display of colour. The
autumn is also a good time to visit Exbury. There is plenty of seating throughout
the gardens and dogs are allowed on leads. |
