 Mount Ephraim is a delightful 8 acre
garden in a wonderful setting. It has fine views of the surrounding orchards and
vineyard sloping down to the Thames estuary. The orchards and vineyard belong to the
Dawes family who are also the owners of the Mount Ephraim Gardens. The gardens have an attractive mixture of formal and informal.
There are herbaceous borders, topiary, a Japanese garden, rock and water gardens and a
rose terrace leading to a lake. In the spring daffodils and rhododendrons give the
garden a blaze of colour.
There are also orchard and vineyard trails and the visitor
may taste the wine from the family's vines.
